The case studies and their accompanying questions, answers, explanations, and case summaries are based on the perspective and clinical judgement of the author of the required reading. This CPE course explores key topics including but not limited to clinical presentation of distinct types of diabetes, engaging a patient in therapeutic lifestyle change, and treating patients across the spectrum of the disease. The case studies from the required reading help provide clarity for the reader on several aspects of diabetes diagnosis and treatment. The accompanying self-assessment exam uses the case studies to test the knowledge of the reader.

This course is appropriate for registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), certified diabetes counseling and education specialists, and nutrition and dietetic technicians, registered (NDTRs).
