Rising cancer rates in younger adults are concurrent with increasing incidence of obesity, malnutrition, and sarcopenia in the same age group. Low muscle mass due to sedentary lifestyles, yo-yo dieting, adiposity-related diseases, side effects of anti-obesity medications, and malnutrition create the perfect storm for impaired treatment tolerance, poor clinical outcomes and diminished well-being during and following cancer treatment. This webinar will focus on the role of the RDN in crafting collaborative care strategies and interventions to identify individuals with pre-existing malnutrition and low muscle mass before beginning cancer treatment.
