The panel was tasked with creating clinical practice recommendations that address nutrition and lifestyle approaches to support patients utilizing glucagon-like peptide 1 based therapies (GBT). Overall, the required reading describes 52 consensus statements that outline key strategies relevant to the treatment and management of obesity with GBTs.
After completing the required reading, learners will evaluate their knowledge through the continuing professional education self-assessment test. This case-study based exam will assess the learner’s understanding of the consensus recommendations and the critical role of nutrition therapy in supporting patients before, during, and after the use of GLP-1 medications.
