Reimbursement is a key driver in patients/residents receiving access to nutrition services, as well as the development of new models of care which include nutrition professionals. Yet many RDNs and administrators do not know how to bill for nutrition services. In this presentation we will explore the complexities and the opportunities of insurance reimbursement. Topics include how to easily navigate the world of CAQH, becoming a Medicare provider, and why it is a great decision for the clinical RDN. We will also discuss other opportunities when working with senior populations.

Lucille Beseler, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE, FAND
President Family Nutrition Center of South Florida
Lucille Beseler is a registered and licensed dietitian/nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator, author, speaker and entrepreneur. She is president and owner of the Family Nutrition Center of South Florida (FNC). Established in 1991, it was one of the first nutrition practices pioneering insurance coverage for nutrition services. Under the direction of Lucille Beseler, Family Nutrition Center has developed into a comprehensive practice providing a variety of nutrition services in multiple locations. Since its inception, the Family Nutrition Center of South Florida has seen over 300,000 children and adults for nutrition evaluation and care.
As an author, her book Nurturing with Nutrition everything you need to know about feeding infants and toddlers receives high praise from physicians and families alike.
An avid advocate for nutrition science in preventing and treating chronic disease Ms. Beseler speaks throughout the South Florida community and the country educating families on the consequences of obesity and obesity related disease. Her work includes serving on the South Florida Health Care working group, appointed by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (FL).
Ms. Beseler is a sought after motivational speaker who has spoken to small audiences as well as groups of over 11,000. She has an upbeat, fun, and passionate style that audiences embrace. Beseler was the 91st President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics representing 100,000 nutrition professionals. Her statement – “Nutrition is a Science, Nutrition is not a Fad” has highlighted the importance of the science of nutrition in transforming health.
