How to Take Accurate Heights and Weights - N4


This inservice provides many of the tools you need to train your staff on how to obtain and document accurate heights and weights in your facility:
 
Resources:
o The Resource section provides resources to assist with implementation of an accurate height and weight measurement and documentation program within your facility. They can also be reviewed by the presenter in preparation for presenting the “How to Take Accurate Heights and Weights” inservice.
o Resources include:
     1.) Information on obtaining accurate heights and weights, significant weight change chart and tracking weight changes
     2.) Sample forms which include an individual weight chart form, significant weight changes form and recording monthly and weekly weights forms
     3.) References

Slides for the Inservice:
o The Slides can be shown on computer or projected on a screen using a data projector.
o You can show the slides directly from the Acrobat file by simply clicking on the icon that looks like a computer screen. Or you can go to the tool bar and click on “View” and “Full Screen” to show the slides on your screen.
o Then click the down arrow button or the page down button on your key board. 

Presenter’s notes for the Inservice:
o Review the Presenter’s Notes prior to presenting the slides.
o The Presenter’s Notes offer some additional information not included on the slides, and may include some suggestions for how to present the information or activities you may want to incorporate.

Handouts for the Inservice:
o Simply copy the handouts and the pre/post-tests for participants.
o Do not provide the answer key for the pre/post tests.
o You can choose to give the test before and after the training, or just after the training to determine the effectiveness of your inservice and whether or not additional training is needed.
