New Recommendations for Treating Pressure Ulcers

The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) released a new international classification system and international guidelines for pressure ulcer treatment…The NPUAP has been working with the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) to review currently available scientific evidence related to pressure ulcer prevention and treatment in order to develop the guidelines which will be used in America and Europe.

A revision has been made to the interpretive guidelines at F371.  Foods accepted by residents from visitors, family, or other guests are not subject to the F371 regulatory requirement.  Additionally, residents have the right to choose to accept food from visitors, family, friends or other guests according to their rights to make choices.
